Getting back on da SLOWerr Road

After two months of on and mostly OFF the road, I am back to running! The behind knee pain is still around but I have succumbed to the fact that it might just be like that for a while. I am not training for any 100 at this time I am just trying to maintain my fitness.

Past 4 days I averaged 5 - 6 miles per run at a 10 - 12 min pace. This is manageable and by running again it helps keep my sanity - lol and keeps my weight steady for the upcoming HOLIDAY Season. (Yes that was a pillow under the shirt from my Halloween pic but if I don't run and continue eating Mini- Wafers like the

Cookie Monster this could be a reality very, very soon - lol)

Hopefully the shorter slow runs (umm I think it's actually called Jogging-LOL) will still give my leg a chance to heal up some more so I can go on longer treks but for now I am HAPPY to be on the road and treadmill again.

I missed it!

That road to recovery is awfully congested these days, isn't it? Make sure you leave some room for me as I hobble alongside you. Jogging.

After my ride to Austin I finally had to tell my body that NO I am not going to have another hamburger. Not riding 350 miles in one week makes a difference in what you should eat. LOL

Try to hold it together and you will be back to the trails very soon for an amazing 2010. :)

Injuries really suck – Glad to see you are working it out because I want to see you get that sub 24 in 2010. I took 6 weeks off last summer and now feel stronger then ever. RICE, beer, stretch, and hit the weights to strengthen the area.

Yeah, just take it easy for now and enjoy your new status "jogger".

You'll be back kicking ass soon enough:-)

HEY BOB! I am glad to hear that you are taking it easy and HEALING. Too bad I am not there to run with you because I think now you are running, er, jogging more of MY pace!!! Take care of yourself so you can be strong in the next race.

I thought I recognized the South Florida beach architecture in one of your photos. I grew up in Miami but live in S. Cal. now. Lots of great hills to train on here. Come join us! Jen
