9 on 9th Plus
I participated in the 9 miles on the 9th virtual run yesterday.
I had planned to run for 3 hours on Saturday and since I missed Nancy's 8 on 8th, had to participate in 9 on the 9th plus a little extra credit since I missed the last one :-)
My poor feet have been sore the past week from running on the pavement, SO I opted to run a boring mulch trail at Caloosa Park to give them a break...which are half mile loops--- (yawner) My fellow KM100 entrant Rick said runs like this will help build up ur mental side when you trek for 100 miles in June... Rick I am mental enough but OK I will practice more in this area :-)
About a half hour into my mulch trek it started to rain and continued on & ON & ONNNNNNNN.... Came down really hard a few times and actually was fun to run in since I was getting bored quickly from the 1/2 mile loops.
GOOD NEWS is the rain cleared out everyone in the park...Have I told you that I don't like people--lmaooooo OK, wait people are GREAT when they don't bother me - ha ha
Here is a quick shot of my sorry ass Mulch Florida trail....Come on Olga and Sarah you really have trails better then this?? , Look at how wonderful this is & the mountainous views (sadface - flatttttttt nothing to look at))) I know!... I will have to look into a second home on the West Coast soooon.
My cooler with some fuel :-)
Here is a soaked shot of me after da 3 hours...Thanks Nanc now please send me over some homemade chicken soup ! (cough, cough... sniffle)
Looks like my heart is pounding through my jacket, but it's just my mp3 player...Whew!
Before I left I had to take This shot for blog founder of Bathroom shots...Miss Marcy -lol and PS: this was like the best out of 10 friggin shots (flash on / off etc..), I need bathroom mirror photo tips Marc
Total Time 3 hours and 9 plus miles :-)

Where's the trail? All I see is parking lot. ; ) : )
Hope you are cozy and dry now Bob! For a guy that runs as much as you - you do need some striking scenery or at least way cool bathrooms.
ROFLMAO Bob!!! Ahhhhhh yeah, got Bob in on the action! Whoot!
That actually looks like fun. Running in the rain beats running in the snow hands down (at least for me LOL)

SEE do u feel my pain?!
Nice. Come on up and visit Rockies.
Some of my best runs have been in the rain!!
I don't think I would have mind running in the rain where you are at today Bob. Nice job getting it done. 3 hours + 9 miles outstanding!!
Now that was one WET rain but what a strong mental mind you had to stick in it and complete 3 hours.
Yaahhhooooo!
You had rain we had WIND!!!
Awesome run, Bob! glad a rained to bring some excitement to that loop. Man, that is working on the mental :-)
LOL at the bathroom shot. I guess Marcy is a talented bathroom photographer.
Congratulations, Rain Runner.
Awwwww, you did great!! Thanks for running with us, Bob, and the extra credit is definitely worth something but not sure what yet. (how bout that long ass email I wrote you with all the professional advice?) jk. :D
Thanks so much for puttin up pics too. I'm sure they'll make the race report. Look for it sometime on Monday.
Nanc
XOXO
Hey do you have a split for 9 or an overall pace so I can figure something up? I'm not sure how many bonus miles you did to figure a pace. :D
Well, if you say its a trail, then its a trail :-) Hope I'm not bothering you :-D
Getting tips from Marcy is a dangerous proposition...especially if it involves the bathroom. ;-)
Good luck with the KM100. Sounds like a good choice.
Great job running in the rain, Bob! That sure looks like it'll build mental toughness for KM... but what I'd like to know is how you are going to train your mind for the incessant biting black flies there???? :)
ORN: Still too much snow, so 11 miles on the dreadmill yesterday while staring at the walls
OK, you didn't mistake here: 9M and 3 hrs? Did I read it or was I blinking? No excuses, I go to the Gorge for such pace...on something like 2500 feet in 3M at that. Tell me you took a nap on a park bench...
Come over and train with us here. You don't need no stinking second home, you need friends willing to partake and to shelter you and hear you whine! I am one:)
Nice boring, loopy rain run. If you can motivate yourself through that you can motivate yourself through almost anything. I bet it got really hot and humid after the rain, bonus points.
Once I got lost in central Florida's freeway. At one point I couldn't tell if I was traveling to or away from home, no friggin mountains for landmarks. Finally I used the billboards and the floating car dealership balloons.
what Olga 9 miles in 3 hours is slow?? are u calling me slow :-)
OK well Thank Goodness it was more then 9, I don't want u to call me slow...it hurts my feelings:-(
It was 16 miles about 11:15 pace...the virtual race was nine miles on the 9th and I did 9 miles PLUS some more to cover my 3 hours...hence the title...Got it Roomie, now please tidy up my room :-) I will bring over take out. What do u want?
Rick LOL about the Billboards & Balloons as ur landmarks.
Bob, glad to have met you on the trail during the 9 on the 9th!!
Little did you know you made it to Canada on you soggy, wet, rain soaked run.
It turned into major snow, snow banks and more snow up here, but (you) we did it just the same.
Best wishes for the next virtual....see you then!
Keep on running!!!

Bob...rain is good training for Wisconsin..now just get the black flies out there and you will be all set!:) Great job
Lisa
Sushi box, please. better yet, tai food, red curry, mild, with tofu. make sure it's waiting for me when I come to teton, or I'll kick your butt out of AS!!!
That looked like it was kind of fun, running in the rain. Nice pic of the mp3 player under your jacket! :)
Hm, I don't think I ever thought of taking photos in a bathroom before...
although there was one that I wish I had. It was in the Fox Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia.
Wow! Bob, that's impressive. Great job getting in those 3 hrs of running!!!
Love the bathroom shot!!!!
Hi again!
Thanks for reminding I hadn't linked my upcoming Marathon. I know never assume, but I just assumed everyone knew my race will be ING Ottawa Marathon. It's now on my sidebar, thanks to YOU!
Run strong!
See you on the road,
Laurel (Lily)
oh, please send some sun and sand up north, I'm tired of the snow banks...*giggle*
Three house plus nine miles? You rock BOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is wrong with my pic? LOL Did I delete it again? I need to schedule a new phone appointment for personalized blog consulting since I missed my last one.
